Now, seriously, people; let it go! Teach your kids, or don’t, but don’t expect me to find stupid videos of uneducated children slapping cats in the face funny, because I never will. When hate is loud love must not be silent. This ship has sailed; I’m turning off notifications for this post, and will not be responding again after this.
Lovely When hate is loud love must not be silent items!
I work for a rescue so I know first hand of what you speak. The problem is people do just that; rather than teaching their children to respect animals, they do things like take videos of them slapping cats in the face, When hate is loud love must not be silent. and post it online like it’s funny…then, when the cat finally snaps because they’ve had enough of being abused, they put them outside or dump them at a shelter, where they’re killed due to “behavioral issues” (when the humans made them that way by forcing them to defend themselves).
People should teach their kids to only touch animals with love; no animals should have to be “taught” to accept abuse. By the way, my cats are completely spoiled and well taken care of, and have never been slapped in the face, unless it was by the people they were rescued from before finding their way to me. Education is key, and reading comprehension is paramount. You’re arguing with someone that mostly agrees with you.

That’s exactly what they do to declaw a cat!! And it’s not temporary pain and discomfort either. The pain from that is permanent. God I hope you don’t have cats! There aren’t even very many veterinarians that will declaw cats anymore because they realized how painful it is and God forbid they somehow get outta the house. They have absolutely no way to defend themselves.
All these people arguing probably wonder why dogs attack kids, it’s because you let your kids treat animals like a toy not a creature. Dogs are jungle gyms for your kids to climb on. Cats arent stuffed animals you can throw around and hit. Also love all the animal behavior specialists seems to be a lot around. Mary Powell some declawed cats become fear-aggressive biters. Getting bitten by any animal is no joke. Cats have teeth like hypodermic needles so a severe cat bite is even more likely to get infected than a dog’s.
