This is very cool & a little sad. My son is 13 and when he was 10 he told me this was one of his dreams to invent prosthetic limbs that could be controlled by the mind and that he was going to do this when he grows up. I see here it’s already been done so there goes another. We will rock you. One of his dreams although for those that are in need of such a thing it’s better to be done sooner than later.
New items – We will rock you!
This isn’t something that’s just “complete”. It’s always going to evolve. I’m sure he will still be able to find ways to improve it, even 20 years from now. They’ve been developing this tech for the last 30 years and will continue for the foreseeable future. Tell your son to keep living his dreams. We will rock you. That’s the beauty of technology, it can always be made better. William Pfeifer is right on! It’s a really exciting time for prosthetics and controlling them with one’s mind is the next huge step but still in development. Hopefully your son can help work on it!
Click to own this funny shirt now! In his invention notebook” he also has an idea for a device to put on dogs to allow them to speak actual words, makes no reasonable sense to me but he believes he’s got it figured out. Lol he’s plans to be a geneticist and wants to research the possibility of stem cells to regrow the limbs.. Not sure how many of his ideas are fantasy and how many could be a possible reality but I encouraged him to explore the possibilities!
Rock your life with it!
Fantasy to sci fi to prototypes to reality. You kid should do his hardest to learn all he can and never loose his creativity in order to make these dreams of his real. warn him that it will be hard, and that it will take time. But His research, his efforts make the reality that much closer even if he doesn’t make it himself. Tell him, that even if something is made, it doesn’t mean it can’t be improved. A dream to help people is a dream worth having. Creativity is a gift the should be fostered and pushed onward. I hope to see a bright future from an innovative mind.
A few seconds before when he is shaking the robot expert’s hand is a better shot. But it is flipped. After that when he is sitting down. I hate when footage is flipped like this in shows and I notice something like this and it makes me really confused if there isnt any visible text on screen to be able to tell if it’s flipped. And know the feeling all too well myself, I have a herniated disc in my neck and no longer have full function of my left hand.
Being a bass player. We cant play like I used to anymore. Its difficult to do frills, hammer on’s and pull off or even move my finger out of the way to hit clear chords. Issues with the extending my hasnd to a fully open position. I have learned to make due. but it will never be the same as it once was.
