I’m glad everyone is happy with rainbow-colored signs making up for all of this mayors shortcomings. I appreciate the continued sentiment of equality Tough enough to be an asshole’s girlfriend crazy enough to love him. for all people but how about making the boroughs better and safer places to live during your term as well.
Cool Tough enough to be an asshole’s girlfriend crazy enough to love him item!
Do your job properly and maybe assign the funds for the tube makeover where it’s better needed. London is and has always welcomed its diverse population and I wholeheartedly support the LBGT society but This is nail varnish on a turd. Seems like a nice gesture. Tough enough to be an asshole’s girlfriend crazy enough to love him. But how about sorting out affordable housing for people where they don’t have to burn to death, irrespective of sexuality?
I’m just making the point that whilst sentiment is good I feel that attention should be focussed elsewhere for now. Life and death issues take priority over all others. It’s illogical to think otherwise. The safety of where people live is more important than a certain aspect of people’s private lives. Given the mayor only has so much time and resource I would say that it is absolutely necessary for him to focus on certain policy ahead of others. That’s my point.

Posting is great for PR but real action would be better. Over 80 people are dead because the state has failed them. Like I said, I like the sentiment but I don’t want to lighten up as I still feel for those people who’s lives have been ruined and lost friends and family. I love a good party but promoting that against this context when people are dead doesn’t sit right to me. I’m not saying it’s diversionary but I want to see that an incident like Grenfell can never happen again.
and you think none of the rest of us do? I live not far from that charred tomb and see it every day so don’t preach to me please. Sadiq is one of the people determined to make sure this never happens again. But not celebrating pride will not bring those poor souls back. Your argument rests on the assumption that homophobia doesn’t kill people. Sadly that is not true people have been killed and seriously injured just for being gay. Promoting tolerance is just as important as safe housing.
