It’s not a bourbon because legally bourbon has to be made from at least 51% corn grain mixture (usually sour mash), it has to be aged in NEW charred oak barrels for a minimum of 2 years (to be labelled as straight bourbon but anything under 4 years is legally required to put the age of the youngest whiskey on the bottle.
