My son has a full ride scholarship and he only needs to complete and internship and he does not want to because he does not like his career choice. Tourism. He chose it after deciding he did not want to become a doctor. He is willing to not get a degree just because he does not like it. I just say I understand but it really is only an internship and he’s done. I had to worked three jobs and still went to school no scholarships for me.

Being a nurse wasn’t part of my plan. But my parents FORCED ME to be, so I have a better chance to work abroad & help my family. At the end, I’m thankful I listened to them. My parents want what’s best for me. Against my will, I agree. Before registering for nursing, my older sister had a horrific car accident, and when I went to the hospital to identify her (she was in a coma and hardly recognizable), I passed out. I couldn’t handle the blood and the needles. My mom said, “you are not cut out to be a nurse). My daughter is majoring to be a Nurse Practitioner (her choice). I’m very happy for her!
Great points here until the passion bit. In the absence of a “passion” (most kids don’t have a passion), pursue something/anything you kinda like. Stay constructive even if it isn’t your passion. What you are best suited for and what you may grow to love will reveal itself in time. I do understand this. My passion has always been for ministry… Since I was a teenager. My family doesn’t really understand that at all. It doesn’t pay much financially, but there are benefits and impacts on lives that can’t be measured like money can. Money is necessary in life, but it’s fleeting. Impacting a person’s life in a positive way lasts forever!!
