Why on earth did the hospital even let him out before the clot was eradicated?! Holy crap, I’d be all over them. I wasn’t even allowed to leave until they found no evidence of mine. Skull the va giving veterans a second chance to die for their country since 1930 shirt It may have been a blessing in disguise as us clotters shouldn’t sit still anyway. Poor guy; I hope he’s better and doesn’t have any reoccurances because DVTs are awful.

When my husband worked in the Amazon warehouse he ended up developing deep vein thrombosis and almost died one night in the ER. When he told his boss and asked for a temporary stationary position so he didn’t die from the blood clot traveling while he was treated they basically told him too bad and that he could go back to work or quit. It was peak and they weren’t going to let something like the threat of death stop him. Skull the va giving veterans a second chance to die for their country since 1930 shirt He quit and never looked back. His life was not worth $11 an hour. I’m not sure. He was kept over night. They gave him an IV with some kind of medicine to help dissolve it and then he started taking xarelto for over a year. He ended up being put on bed rest from December to May about a week after he quit Amazon due to the size and the vein that was impacted. He is better now as it has been about 4 years but the scar tissue is bad in that vein so his leg still bothers him. Scariest time of our life for sure.

just some advice (because I’ve been in his shoes if by chance he has another DVT, fight for him to stay longer. Intravenous Heparin will absolutely help, but overnight really isn’t long enough, especially for how big the clot seemed to be. A couple of days of observation can really mean the difference between life and death. You don’t want it traveling and becoming a PE. Again, just something to consider if it ever happens again. Sure is no joke. My mom passed of an embolism that was a complication of her leukemia. She was admitted to the hospital after her routine blood counts were off one day to find out why. Walked in herself and by 8 that night they were calling saying she was in ICU. A clot had traveled to her lungs and she passed within a few hours of admittance. Nothing to fool with. She had no real symptoms show up. Surprised the heck out of the doctors and the family.
