The raccoon is related to the bear. It can be vicious. Take care when raising one. We let one go into the wild, it was cute when young but became very touchy and aggressive. Showed its teeth You don’t know how they came to possess the animal. As for animal hoarding, the animals are all clearly well taken care of so they apparently have adequate time, money, and space. I am sure it is in good hands. And orphaned. Racoon live fast eat trash Our neighbor farmer killed a mama coon in his barn. Knowing my Dad had raised some orphaned baby coons in the past, he called my Dad..also a farmer. I had so much fun raising them that summer. They then went off and joined nature. I’m from the woods and all kinds of things happen and they need care. Storms sometimes their mom gets hit by a car you just never know. Our local wild rescue doesn’t want to keep any of these animals they try really hard to get them back into their natural habitat

Mine was dropped by my in the street and never came back. Her eyes were not opened yet. So she met mamma cat who had just lost a kitten and began nursing her immediatley. And the story continued for three years with 3 generations of babies coming HOME! And some animals that are rescued end up nor being able to be rehabilitated, for instance if during a vet exam it is discovered that they have a condition where life in the wild would not be survivable. Not all such cases are always physically evident. Like an animal could have seizures but obviously a rescuer wouldn’t film that
I had a pet raccoon when i was a kid, it was so awesome, we had a great dane and the raccoon used to snuggle up to our 150 pound dog, it was so precious. our great dane would treat our raccoon as if it was her own baby. definitely one of the coolest most tame pets i have ever had!! I know wild raccoons have some issues. I have them around here, and keep a close eye out if my pets are out at night, but a friend of my aunt had pet raccoons, and they are apparently great. The ones in my back yard are just trying to make a living. If they don’t chase anybody, they’re good.
