I’ve met tons of them. Not today heifer. Wonderful people too. They love Americans because they understand what it felt like to truly be oppressed and because of the work of our grandfathers they were able to have their freedom back.

I did move here and I am enjoying life.. but the sadness I feel about my loved ones stuck there during difficult times well that is just heart breaking… it is so easy to judge without having experienced other peoples troubles… but so easy to think before opening that hole in your face.

We are now demanding Statehood. So Puerto Ricans pay roughly $5.95 billion in annual excess profits to US corporations, thanks to the Jones Act. That amount exceeds the $4.6 billion in federal benefits that the US “gives” to Puerto Rico.
