I remember that game. The Oilers developed a crazy pass rush through Ryan and they were rushing Montana pretty good that day. If the Oilers won either of those games we probably would’ve seen a Texas Super Bowl between the Cowboys and Oilers. We were at the game too. So many people left the stadium at half time. National football champions NDSU shirt They were not allowed back in when the Bills turned the game around. Reed, Reich, Smith, awesome players. We were big fans of the Buffalo Bills then and still are! Go Bills!
A couple brothers from my church played for the bills. Lonnie Johnson one. Very close to my family. Would get us tickets at 50 yard line. This game we were on our way home. When it just started to get good. I’m from Buffalo. If you recall, the telecast was blacked out that day in buffalo and Rochester. You either listened to it on the radio or went to Orchard Park. I still have my program. I remember watching this & gave up because I wanted Houston to win! Then kept seeing the score changed turned it back! Greatest comeback ever!!! Without Kelly or Thurman Thomas playing.
I remember this heartbreak. First half Oilers could do nothing wrong, second half they could do nothing. Watching a win slip away touchdown after touchdown in complete disbelief. Still I loved my Oilers! We were at this game & it was amazing! Our seats were in the 300’s but by half time we were able to move into the 100’s at the tunnel. This was also the only time I have ever seen fans who left be let back into the stadium!!
