I have been around these kind of people and it’s true. I have become a person that I don’t like anymore. Merry ottermas ugly christmas I don’t like being like this. I pray that I can find positive people to be around. People who bring me up and not down.

Female sea otters are very maternal as long as they are well-fed and comfortable. Once a pup is introduced to one of our resident females, it only take a few days for them to start taking care of the pup as if it were their own! All five of the otters at the Aquarium have taken care of pups at this point. Merry ottermas ugly christmas We want to make sure that the pup is able to dive for his/her food before introductions with surrogate mom. It can take a few days for mom to take an interest in the pup and start sharing food, so we wait until the pup can at least feed itself before starting the surrogacy.
By the time the pups are ready to be separated from mom and geared up for release, the surrogates are pretty wiped out! They definitely seem to welcome the break and enjoy an empty nest for a little bit, while the pups take a while adjusting to independent life—just like humans, really! visitors can see our resident adult otters like Rosa in the sea otter exhibit. We keep rescued pups like 696 behind the scenes because we don’t want them getting used to the sight of humans. That way when they’re released back into the ocean they’ll truly be wild otters!
Do they meet with the foster moms until they click with one or do you just pair them with one and hope they get along? I love watching 696. We have been watching otter rescue since coming to MBA and seeing the rescue video at a sleepover. My girls just LOVE the otters. Maybe future MBA employees here
