This is an unproven theory. Having said that, the “solution” offered in this video could certainly be damaging to those who suffer from depression as it offers little to no understanding of the underlying cause of an individual’s plight.
Cool Jesus sunflower items!
I think what many people on here seem to be missing , is that nowhere in the video does it say either lady was suffering from depression. Depression is a disease. However ,being depressed, is not a disease. It simply means you are down. We’ve almost all have been depressed at some point but have managed to bounce back. We weren’t clinically depressed.Just saying that there is a difference
Whether a person is I’ll from a chemical loo imbalance or just from self worth at least she sought help. Please of mind is worth the effort to be happy at any given moment. Each morning I prayed others in this world and tell myself that I should not get out of bed unless I seek to help others by st least making them smile, laugh or say how they are loved by God.
Get it and hope you like it!
The cleaning woman’s sadness was not depression. It was grief. It was because of what had happened in her life. Depression is completely different, an overwhelming sadness not caused by any situation in your life, for no reason other than chemical imbalance in your body. I’m not saying the message isn’t powerful. Giving others happiness helped the cleaning woman move through her grief and we can all learn from that. But people who are depressed are not by definition selfish, and no amount of selfless giving can “cure” depression. It’s two completely different things. The video sends the wrong message by suggesting that people with clinical depression just need to give a little more. No. That’s not it.
