I would like to thank all the female nurses who chose to go to Normandy, gallipoli, lemnos, and most of europe and asia, as well as the middle east. In a world full of roses be a sunflower shirt On the fronts aiding the wounded and the dying, being captured and tortured for their service alongside with the men. These brave women chose to go and serve just as the soldiers did and often died alongside them.

we need to remember and honour all named and nameless women and men during war. Not only nurses but the land girls who fed nations and troops, factory girls who kept the jobs going and were then made redundant once men could return to their jobs while raising the children left fatherless during these times. In a world full of roses be a sunflower shirt If war taught us anything it should have taught us how capable both sexes are at moving forward together.
There were not very many women in WW1 yet. But in WW2 there were much more. Didn’t you know that Soviet Union had female soldiers (not mothers, but single)? In front line, up in the air and all sorts of assisting jobs. My grandmother was working as a nurse in front line, bombs falling around did not stop her. My grand aunts were in air protection, shooting planes down. And soldiers needed to be fed, their uniforms needed to be cleaned, quess who did it? Everyone was needed and there were no enough men to do all the jobs. So maybe you should read more history books, if you don’t have family member to tell you about war.
In the UK men had no right to vote unless they owned a property and won the right to vote the same time as women. First world war men volunteered to go to war with no idear what it would be like. While in uk the women Suffragette’s where handing white feathers to all men. For someone who claims to be “far from a feminist” you sure seem to be echoing their sentiments well. Women are not responsible for creating life on their own. Men have their role in the matter as well, you cannot simply keep a few men around for sperm and try to propagate the species that way, you’d end up having to do too much inbreeding which is not healthy. Also, by your same logic, we have the ability to create human life in artificial wombs, so if man is only needed for his sperm, woman is only needed for her eggs. She’s just as useless.
