Cool I’m that crazy girl who loves turtles a lot items!
My little tabby took on a car and fractured her back. She was caged for 8 weeks and medicated for 4 weeks (every 4-6 hours 24 hours a day). That was 4 years ago – now she is fat and extremely healthy not to mention she’ll climb anything. With love and care animals can pull through almost anything. She has paid the care back ten fold. I’m that crazy girl who loves turtles a lot Totally agree with what this guy said. It reminded me that everytime I see a dog show/competition, I always feel bad for the animals because they don’t really need to be showcased in order to show and tell others that they live well.
Cropped ears, tails tucked between legs or even having their tails cut off, stuffy dog crates, breeding to get the “perfect dog”. These are some of the things these lovely animals have to endure so that their humans could win the prize. I know not all animals being made to join in these competitions are harmed, but people need to realize that dogs can live without these shows, most especially live without the procedures to make them “aesthetically acceptable”. Giving them love, shelter food and their basic needs is more than enough for them. No need to make a spectacle out of them. If people used their money on saving other less fortunate animals rather than on “beauty pageants”, that would be a better use of their resources.
Welcome to my new designs!
We show dogs in conformations, agility and obedience. The dogs like it. They like having something to do and the attention. Even dogs from the shelters can do most competitions now. They enjoy the activities and being with their parent. Did they tell you themselves. Imagine if humans were put thru the same ridiculous tasks for another species’ “entertainment”. You cannot speak for an animal. I’m sorry. You might thing they like it to make you feel better about what you’re doing, but it’s still a ridiculous practice that is completely unnecessary.
All my concerns and distaste for the people who feel it necessary to display their dog’s intelligence, when in fact it’s the owners seeking to steal the limelight, you have highlighted admirably. Well said. More often than not, these dogs are subjected to cruel treatment (they like to call it training) in order to achieve the owner’s self-serving needs. The sooner they get rid of these ludicrous dog shows and, more importantly, the so-called authorities (like Crufts and the Kennel Club) — who profess to be the experts on training, breeding, standards, behavioural demands and unnecessary cosmetic mutilations — the better.
