I know some homeless people, and they don’t need just food, they need money, just like everyone else does, and for the same reasons necessities, like clothing, a shower, aspirin, paying for a hotel room I’m that crazy girl loves horror movies a lot (so they can take a shower about once a month). They’re given food all the time, when often what they need just as much (which they’re often refused) is money.

Cook as funny as it sounds you should tell the homeless person you know to get a cheap gym membership. Showers and water available often 24 hours a day for 20 pound a month. Just something I’ve noticed in the city I live.. It does sort of require living in an urban area where entry is automated and relatively unmonitored. I’m that crazy girl loves horror movies a lot I play music on the street for the enjoyment of people in the downtown area. I am not there as a beggar. If people enjoy the music they sometimes throw coins in my guitar case to show their appreciation. People who play music for you are artists, not beggars.
It is not reality, it is the worst form of ad hominem logic. Unless you’ve personally verified with objective tools this statement, you’re wrong just on principle. You don’t hand out money because you want to keep it for yourself. If you truly had an altruistic heart, you would give because you would already understand that you don’t know these people, and they don’t know you. As another woman put it, save your judgment for the courts.

Very many self righteous and psychic people subscribe to this I see. The majority of people on the street are not drug addicts , or alcoholics , or anything else aside from being homeless. Many are young adults who are displaced from their homes due to abuse or other circumstances. Many homeless lose their homes and try to function in society. Many have physical and mental disabilities yet they have college educations and were once employed. Many are vets who served the country came home with PTSD and received improper care or no care. Being judgmental doesn’t help anyone aside from yourself.
