I do not any more, but I taught for quite a few years and even though this portrayal is a little dramatic, I’m not offended at all. I’m not sure if the doctor said I was obese or a beast big dogs shirt There are several teachers with that same mentality. They don’t say it to parents. They say it in break rooms and on the phone after hours.

Exactly. I never once made a parent feel their child was less because of a grade and I taught for 16 years. I have also been the parent at meetings where I have been made to feel badly. I always started with what they did well and then gave help for parents to work on at home for those areas they needed help. I once had a woman at a field trip bad mouth kne of my ADHD students whose parents didnt medicate. I out her in her place and I’m not sure if the doctor said I was obese or a beast big dogs shirt he has grown into the most beautifully gifted artist and rapper I know. Judging a child when they are a child based on someone else’s opinion of who are supposed to be is just wrong.

Their attitude also shows up in the frequency in which we see so many students graduate unprepared with very little confidence in their abilities. A lot of teachers care about their content and not enough about finding out their students’ strengths. Teachers have a lot on their plates, but so do children who have yet to develop the life skills we use everyday to navigate through life. It’s time we change how we educate. To educate is to open one’s mind so that they can fly for themselves. My sister was told she would never amount to anything by more than one teacher. She is a brilliant, wonderful person, who is very successful. My mother fought for her and she fought for herself, unlike what some other students are able to accomplish for several reasons. I am so proud of her. I worry for my special needs son. So far we have lucked out, for the most part.
