I hope a lot of parents have seen this and had a talk to their children to include and sit with others to eat their lunch. Some kids do want to eat alone, I’m his voice he is my heart autism awareness but some might be to scared to ask or not know how to go about asking to sit with someone. There is no excuse for that little boy to be eating alone, unless it was his own choice.
Cool I’m his voice he is my heart autism awareness tee!
My son won’t even go to the cafeteria. He usually goes to one of his team/teachers classrooms. It’s not that no one would eat with him… for him it’s overwhelming… too “people-ie”. It’s like a claustrophobia… I’m his voice he is my heart autism awareness but it is only inside. He loves football games… outside, Kings Island… outside, Disney etc… but to get him to go to a concert or basketball game… no way. I took him to TSO… he completely shut down and SLEPT through a TSO concert!
My son used to beg to eat alone because he couldn’t stand people talking and spitting over his food (or theirs) and if they did he would not eat. So was grateful when he was allowed to eat at a separate table. If he is like my daughter he chose to sit alone. I have seen my girl sit by herself at our Bible camp because she chose too. She would see all the kids and sit at a table that hardly had anyone at it. She was content and does not socialize much while eating.

Schools should do a Lucky Pick where one student a day a name is drawn from a hat and They have to sit with them. Make an effort to engage in conversation! Loneliness can be very dangerous to a lot of people! When I was around that kids age I didn’t want to be near people at all when I’m trying to enjoy my food. It’s called we don’t want attention all the time we could just want to be left well enough alone
