You’ve had a hard time and I’m proud of you for realising the situation wasn’t okay and getting out. It’s never too late to learn to open up and trust a little again. Having walls can protect us by keeping the bad out, but it can often keep the good out too. Sending lots of love. Traumatic life events have such an unforeseen impact on us all. The fact that you were able to escape is amazing and you are so powerful and brave for doing so, but getting help to recover and once again become that open-hearted dreamer you once were requires an entirely different kind of strength that I’m sure you have.
