No one is suggesting that we force priests, imams or other clergy to perform ceremonies contrary to their religion. I was taught to think before i act. It will be very rare, I imagine, but it will happen. And then you have a situation of one group maybe forcing the other group to act counter to their beliefs and/or traditions.

I’m confused. Can someone please clarify why civilians want religious freedoms in regards to SSM? however why is “girl from parramatta” needing religious freedom? I was taught to think before i act. We already have that, you are free to practice any religion you choose in Australia; as a civilian/business owner though, it is illegal to discriminate against someone based on their sex, age, sexuality or race or have i been transported back into the 1940’s & the anti discrimination act is not around yet? Finally someone who has taken the words from my mouth. We have all sizes and color for you. I don’t understand why we are still hearing about religious freedom when it is entirely separate from running a business and ssm. And some would want to be married under their religious framework. However, many religions or denominations in the major religions, don’t approve of SSM.

The argument is that if you are in the free market you should not be granted. Those exceptions as it is a breach of our current discrimination act. Based on their sexuality, the services provider would be in breach of the law. I think many of the yes supporters are under the misapprehension that gay and Christianity in the same person can coexist. You can’t be Christian and gay. The teachings of Christianity shun homosexuality so the two are mutually exclusive. The only gay people that will try to get a religious marriage will be the extremists wilfully trying to stir the pot
