I think the Christian habit of gossiping is a much greater detriment to witness than an occasional glass of wine will ever be! Paul instructed Timothy to take a little wine. I think a man with a helmet defending our country Let’s stop majoring on the minors. This is a matter of conscience…what is right for one may not be for another. Let’s cut each other a break.
New I think a man with a helmet defending our country tee!
You were taking it out of context my statement is not flawed at best how you say. Anything in excess is bad food alcohol etc etc etc. Just because you had a few drinks or a couple tokes does not make you an ineffective Witness in fact I have done some good truth speaking to people about I think a man with a helmet defending our country Christ after a few beers or a few tokes so don’t give me that. What kills the church these days is the blatant hypocrisy.
In fact some of the most egotistical holier than thou backstabbing gossiping judgmental two-faced people I have ever met have been in the church pews and I’ve been going to church for years and involved with various Ministries. Not to mention the way people are preaching these days straying away from the hard facts of what the Bible says and Catering to tickling people’s ears with what they want to hear the word of God is meant to offend you and convicted you of your sins so you realize the need for a savior like Jesus not to coddle you along

I don’t believe Jesus himself drank any alcohol but he didn’t mind others to drink a little bit of wine. He is not against it, but warns us that too much of it can change our personality. I think of alcohol the same way that I think of marijuana. It should be used medicinally. I don’t believe that either should be used socially or recreationally.
What about the scripture that states be alert and of sober mind…when we are not sober we are vulnerable to the enemy….What is the point of drinking…to be buzzed which is an alteration of the mind which leads to poor decisions and exactly what the enemy wants…so then what is the point of drinking other then to alter the mind and be left at the enemy’s every beck and call. Jesus made some amazing wine. So good, that after they had been feasting and drinking for some time, the host said it was the best they had tasted yet.
