I am actually a feminist im just not one that forces special privileges, e.g. adhering to anyone’s own idea of feminism. You as well as most people I survived picking potatoes in maine mug that call themselves feminists are determined to portray men as dangerous, as you also seem to suggest. I will reiterate I am all for gender equality but not one that follows your precise set of ideals.
I survived picking potatoes in maine mug
It is true that there is bad press around the term feminism; there is a case to be made for a more gender-neutral term. However, many people feel that they have to own the term feminist rather than be forced to make it more audience-friendly just because feminism has been attacked and smeared. I’m ambivalent about it myself, I survived picking potatoes in maine mug I wish more men could see that feminism could be good for us all, male and female and neutral. I know that is less likely when the word seems to favour the female. But feminists overall are not misandrists. So I try to own the term, in its simplicity and I try to express love and comradeship with men as much as possible.
The feminist movement needs to re organise for more relevant and reasonable issues rather than man bashing anyone who doesnt Instantly conform and assure you they are feminist so your precious ideology doesnt have to endanger being confronted. I can’t say enough times, I offered suggestions above in response to a request for suggestions.I don’t insist that anyone carries them out. I don’t have a rigid ideology; this issue is complicated and needs to be re-negotiated all the time.
I love men and am well aware that the vast majority of them are not capable of violence or a sexual transgression against an unwilling person. I don’t bash men, I was careful to use the hashtag #notallmen when I referred to statistics about violence and coercion. Not sure why you’re SO angry with me for trying to engage with a man who seemed to sincerely be asking how to be nonthreatening to women.
