I agree and am frequently frustrated with the popularity and acceptance of putting down a dynamic generation. I have children that are Millennials and are hardworking, intelligent contributors to society. A 28 year old who has owned and fixed up 3 houses while working full time and his 25 year old fiancé who worked her way through college and has a great job where she has received 2 promotions in a year – I don’t keep calm I am a dad of a smartass son surpassing older generations that worked there 20 years due to her positivity and work ethic. I am a teacher and am amazed by my students knowledge and embrace of all the new information and challenges that are a part of their everyday lives and that I, at 54 years old could not even imagine navigating at their age.

I love the millennial generation. They are getting a bad rap out there but I’ve found that when you lead this group properly they are extremely innovative, will push the edges and help you think differently and generally will work hard towards a goal. As a member of Gen X I say we need to stop complaining about people and help lead this generation to execute to their full potential.
Yes respect and appreciation also happens in the work force, the application goes more to the ones who don’t work properly or don’t work at all. People are afraid to sleek there minds and feelings on theses problems. But the people who do work and respect quality and production are the ones being pushed to make up for what don’t do in the work force. I respect hard working and I disrespect those who kiss ass and make it to the top when others did more to achieve that but are rejected because they tried on there own ability of a good job.
