If your son or daughter were deployed you wouldn’t want funding to just stop. I am a grumpy veteran I served I sacrificed I have anger issues. I agree they need to hold the pentagon and politicians accountable but do not take it out from under those who are around the globe in combat roles or maintaining a state of readiness.

Sadly of all of the money spent our troops rarely have top notch bulletproof vests or proper armor in humvees or trucks. They are the ones who should be equipped with the very best. The only money that went back to Iran was the assets that wealthy Iranians had here. I am a grumpy veteran I served I sacrificed I have anger issues They were frozen during the Iran hostage crisis when our Embassy was over run by militants who ousted the Shah who we supported. In order to get UN inspectors on the ground we gave that money back. This is why Trump will never get a better deal than the one he just canceled. We have no other bargaining chips. At least not that many.
No military funding went to Iran, just their own money from 1978.
But there are many other places military funding could have gone, most likely towards contracts that were under bid, such as the joint strike fighter. A lot of those contracts are awarded based on politicians not what the contractor can offer the fastest and on budget.

I know every one of the state capitals, but that doesn’t mean I know which are most in need of repairs. Even if your son (the officer) has some inkling that the training equipment used by his company is ‘ancient’, that does not mean they cannot train successfully? What are the training objectives, and which ones have not been accomplished? Funny shirt. I had heard that when the Gulf war was on us local soldiers, not Americans , that signed up to fight with us. Would us different names and were paid 2 or 3 times. Since there was no record keeping for the local men.
The problem isn’t Pentagon waste. The problem is Republicans in Congress giving in to defense contractors and their billions and trillions of dollars. There’s no need, absolutely no need, for the US to squander so much of our wealth on missiles, bombs and war materiel.
