My daughter had to sit my grandson in front of his favorite video. She would Stroke his head, then stroke and clip. It took the whole video, but it worked. Deadpool and my unicorn and I talk shit about you. My grandson is in 8 th grade now, on the track team. He takes pride in his hair.
Cool Deadpool and my unicorn and I talk shit about you collection!
This man is doing something good…every time I watch one of his videos I just feel so much gratitude for what he is doing and how he treats the children. He is kind. He is patient. He is creative. I just love what he’s doing. This guy is my hero!! Even some people with the training to work alongside Autistic children cannot muster this kind of patience and understanding. He is really special. Deadpool and my unicorn and I talk shit about you. This is an issue I have never thought of before when watching news coverage of school shootings. Police should be trained and made aware of how to interact with people with disabilities. Maybe there is a way to let them know classrooms with disabled students. I remember when my kids were little our fire department had stickers you could get for free and put on your children’s bedroom windows so firefighters would know where children might be in case of a fire. Maybe a color-coded room number to indicate special needs classrooms to alert first responders.
Take it now or Cry later!
Except not all students with disabilities are in special needs classes and some classes integrate special needs students with others which is good for learning on both sides. This is something I have been speaking about, my grandson being autistic. There is no way of keeping these children quiet when they are upset or startled! All you gun enthusiasts have an answer for a large special needs child acting erratically when either a nut job or cop, yielding a gun would know the difference between a confused and scared special child and a threat? I suppose your guns are more important than our special people!
As a special education teacher, I am just so utterly proud of this family! Educating others about autism is critically important and can help save lives. Thank you to Holden and the Kasky family!! I just had an IEP meeting for my child where I put a specific active shooter plan into the IEP! Every IEP should have one. Parkland convinced me to finally do one. I see and agree with what he is saying, however in a panic situation their might not be time to do an assessment like that. But Police just need better training in general.
