racism is not the same as racial prejudice. Racism is believing you are superior to others and that others are inferior to you. It’s about dominance. There is no context in the world where Black people can ever feel or have ever felt superior to white people; thus Black people can never be said to be racist towards White people.

Although I appreciate this gentleman’s honesty, I disagree with his assertion of his co-workers being “borderline racists” – there is no such thing as borderline racism or bigotry; a person is either a racist and/or bigot, or they are not. What is difficult to understand, is why individuals with certain racial/ethnic/religious ideals and beliefs elect to establish false relationships with the very people that they hold these ideals about. For Example: This HONY contributor states, ” A lot of the older guys drop ‘n bombs.’ But if a black guy walks up, they’ll be friendly. They’ll even go out to lunch with him and share a meal. I honestly don’t think they see themselves as racist.
Every one of them will deny it. They’ll point to the black guy that they’re friendly with. They won’t point to the things they say when he’s not around.” I’m confident that there are individuals who will respond to my comment on this post by writing, here’s yet another black person making it all about them (no joke, the comment is made quite frequently), however, that is not the case! Therefore, in order to comprehend my point, Use the statement above and replace n bombs with another slur, remove Black and replace it with Asian, White, Latino, Indian, Gay, and etc; perhaps in doing so, you will better understand what I am attempting to relay.
