Apparently 48 and 49 percent of Catholics and Protestants respectively voted for the Fuhrer. The number of Christian fundamentalist evangelicals who voted for the dictator, if I remember correctly, was around the 87% mark. It is these same evangelical fools who are preaching that the hand of God played a role in his election to power, Build bridges not walls black live master shirt rigged as it was. At least the Pope is not preaching hatred against others who don’t follow the doctrine. One of his Bishops in Kentucky also spoke up regarding the MAGA wearing teens from Covington. I was in this little neighborhood restaurant, where they had a group of Italian folk musicians playing. I noticed that a couple of their songs were the early Italian arias that anyone who has taken Clasical voice lessons has studied. When it came to requests, I asked for one. They did it. I asked for another. The singer didn’t know it, but the guitarist did, and he asked me to sing it. I did. He asked me if I knew another. I did.

The rail line has a huge iron gate across it which is mostly closed. The museums are open, but you have to enter at a specific point. The other gates have armed guards. (The Swiss Guards are NOT just ceremonial. All of them have had basic military training with the Swiss Army, and cross-train with the Italian Army. And they do have modern weapons, not just the swords and halbreds.
I remember when I was there, I almost got arrested. Almost, because I persuaded them that it was an accident. I wanted to send a package home; one think you will learn if you spend time in Rome is that if you want to have mail get home quickly or even at all, you won’t trust the Italian Post, but rather the Vatican Post. However, the branch on St. Peter’s Square was not set up to handle packages, so they sent me to the main post office inside the walls. Told me to go through St. Anne’s Gate. Well I did, and the guard didn’t challenge me; I guess I looked so sure of myself and wasn’t dressed as a typical tourist that he thought I belonged there, or maybe I had a double working in the Vatican, but never mind.
