Y’all keep saying it should be taught in school…the same school that teaches Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson were heroes? How about Y’ALL teach it to YOUR children at HOME. Black history month I am black every month but this month I am black black shirt Yes it should be taught at home to instill pride, but it should also be in the school curriculum. As a teacher, I add it to my lessons, but it should be integral to the curriculum and in the textbooks!

We don’t teach Jackson was a hero..well at least I don’t. I’m an 8th grade US History teacher in Texas. But I will say, there is a lot lacking in common core and state standards and it is unfortunately, up to the teacher to “fill in the blanks of the textbook”. This is why representation matters. I’ll be looking for the YouTube version to show my scholars next Friday. I’m not sure what school YOU went to but I was NEVER taught that Andrew Jackson was a hero… Black history month I am black every month but this month I am black black shirt Homicidal, racist maniac responsible for the trail of tears sure. Hero? Naaaaaah. And Abe, was indifferent to the issues of slavery and blacks… Also now since I am an educator, I make sure to let my students know the real deal… You should never allow school to be the only place where a child learns. If u expect schools to teach ya kid everything they should know then they’re already losing…

The system that enslaves will not liberate. The “education system” comes from the same institution as slavery. You’re only “taught” what is needed to keep you ignorant and docile. Your children’s true education should begin in the home. We are teaching our kids this, otherwise they wouldn’t even know to look. But when people say this, I think they mean it needs to be taught to every American child, in every school, instead of this whitewashed watering down of American history. People of color don’t teach this in their home. Because some of them don’t know the information themselves. The history books have been lying for ever. They don’t want us to know the true history of America. So a lot of people are colored don’t know the true history of America. To teach it to their own children. All they know is the white man lies. And that’s the truth Ruth!!!
because it’s not happening in the vast majority of schools! Parents are the children’s first teachers! There’s no excuse for ignorance and not researching our history! Knowledge is Powerful! A mind is a terrible thing to waste! We the parents need to teach our children the US soils, trans continental railways were built by indigenous black native Americans and Africans just like our ancestors picked those cotton fields. Our beautiful brothers and sisters built the lands worldwide. That lie they have been telling many black natives for years, that’s why we’re hated by them so. We were of royalty no doubt, no matter where one came from, the continents were of melanin people not that white washed, hog washed crap they’ve been feeding us. Teach your kids the truth, not the lies many believed
