One of the staff asked for her to take the scooter and the response was ‘he’s not going to do what I tell him. Avengers autism awareness my super power shirt He’s autistic’. So no other child could play, all unwell. That’s what upsets me. This particularly upsets me.

have you ever worked with autistic children? The kick off (meltdown) that taking his scooter away from him would be far worse than him playing on it no doubt and is giving him the stimulation he’s needing being in a strange environment. Maybe not ideal but im sure everyone in the waiting room would rather hear a happy child than a child thats having a meltdown and thats before they are even seen. My son is 3 and has down syndrome and is non verbal Avengers autism awareness my super power shirt so his only way of communication is to shout I feel this family’s pain the Snidey comments and funny looks towards me and my son it’s wrong on so many levels It happen to me as my son got autism as very young age and have wear hardness on him and screaming kicking off on shop floors and hate going to playgroup etc.
Had hard time now he have up and down as age 30 now For most parents they work tirelessly and people don’t understand the work that goes into ‘getting it right’ for their child, how many situations are too much for some children. I have though come across a few parents who have exasperated me. Eg one parent visited A&E she had planned it the week before she told me, her son had autism so they had to be seen immediately. She gave him his scooter and then let him ride it around the waiting area. There were maybe 15 toddlers/children who all had to sit on parents laps whilst he played.
