I am a 61-year-old white woman. I have loved Eminem from the very first time I heard his music. My kids were shocked, first that I knew who he was and second that I loved his music. I have always said he is a genius, in the way he brought his words and thoughts to life through his music. Enjoy 90s hip hop Kriss Kross bugs taz It didn’t bother me that some of his thoughts were dark and full of rage. In some strange way, I understood it all. I love him, even more, knowing this story and how determined he was. I’m happy for his success but even more, I wish him happiness.

There are many hip hop artists who grew up in pain and have told their stories and are loved. I remember when years ago Eminems lyrics were often violent and filled with abuse towards women and I would tell my friends not to let their children listen to him. However, he has grown and matured over the years and the story of his childhood is horrendous. I guess when 8 Mile came out and people realized that a lot of it told his own story, I started paying attention to him. I’ve watched him grow and as many other artists that lifted themselves out of childhoods that could have turned out much differently, his drive has let us see his brilliance. I applaud him
I live Eminem so much that my friends and I decided to go against to Detroit police advice to NOT drive down through the 8 Mile Trailer Park. The officer warned us that it was dangerous and to not stop or get out of our vehicles
